The House

Bridges Court is situated in the village of Luckington on the Wiltshire/Gloucestershire border. The house dates back to the 18th century and is Grade II listed . The Cotswold barn across the courtyard from the house is also Grade II listed.

The house, which is owned by Viscountess Melville, was once owned by Sir Stewart Menzies, the former head of MI6, and the person on whom Ian Fleming's "M" of James Bond fame was based. While at Bridges Court, his next door neighbour in 1936 was purported to be a German agent, Baron Robert Treeck, who had leased Luckington Manor.
